Summer Intergenerational Mission Trip
'Touching Taliaferro with Love'
Monday June 11th - Friday June 15th, 2012
'Touching Taliaferro with Love' is a summer day camp based at the Taliaferro County School in Taliaferro Co., (near Augusta) Georgia's poorest county. The purpose of the camp is to offer Taliaferro County children and youth an opportunity to learn more about God, develop a stronger character, learn new skills, make new friends and have safe and healthy fun. The camp is based on a VBS style curriculum with breakfast, lunch, snacks, songs, games, sports, crafts, bible stories, and more all included.
Participants of All Ages Welcome, Families Welcome
*Volunteers must be 13 years of age or older - Children under 13 may attend week as campers.
COST:
$45 per person; Includes:
-Participation in day-camp event
-Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner (Tues - Thu)
(Dinner on Monday, Breakfast/Lunch on Friday)
-4 Nights lodging at A.H. Stephens State Park (8 person full-service cottages)
-Transportation to and from Taliaferro Co.
-Camp training on Monday
NEEDED:
-Participants to serve as 'Buddies' who partner with a camper/campers throughout the duration of the camp
-Teachers who will lead and facilitate sessions and activities.
**These sessions still need a teacher: Crafts, Music, Movie, & Fine Arts.
- Drivers to assist with transportation to and from Parkway and throughout the week (with their own vehicle)
-Supplies
We will be working in partnership with FBC Athens, GA and CBF Ga.

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
Daniel was way more than the guy who survived a den of hungry lions! Travel back to Babylon and join Daniel--torn from his home and forced into the king's service. Imagine the pressure of learning a new language and culture…and the shock of discovering your best friends have been tossed into a fiery furnace. Explore exotic sights and smells in a Babylonian bazaar! Kids and adults will find that they're not much different from Daniel and his friends, who kept their faith in a faithless culture.
