Parkway is a Baptist church, which means that we are part of the "Free Church Tradition." Churches like ours are not bound to a particular liturgy or order of worship so there is room for creativity in all that we do. However, our church features what we call "traditional" or "classic" worship, following a general order similar to what Baptists have used for generations.
Each service is constructed around a general theme, usually most evident in the choir anthems and the sermon. This theme is supported by hymns, occasional choruses, additional scripture readings, prayers, and testimonies. We seek to create an atmosphere that is reverent yet joyful, reflecting our gratitude to God for the amazing love and grace given to all believers.
Visitors are encouraged to participate fully in worship. Our worship bulletin is easy to follow. We try to avoid the unease of not knowing what to do when. Our prayer for worship is always that you will feel comfortable enough among us to be able to sense the presence of the living God and to be moved closer to that presence through your worship experience. |
